WELCOME TO THE FOREFRONT OF

HIGH PERFORMANCE MEDICAL GARMENTS AND TEXTILES

With more than five decades of experience in developing medical textiles for post-op purposes, we at Tytex know just how challenging it can be to supply high-performance post-op garments to hospitals, clinics and patients.

Surgical sites need to be well protected. Compression garments are used during the healing process to provide support and compression to aid in reducing wound swelling and minimizing the accumulation of blood and fluid.

The seamless design and soft fabric used for our postsurgery products are ideal for the postsurgical stage, offering support and full freedom of movement without restricting or irritating sensitive tissue.

The Carefix post-op garments feature 4-way stretch and skin-friendly material which provides support and relief as well as optimum wearing comfort, while also offering the therapeutically required uniform compression.

When it comes to compression, we are the experts. Based on our medical expertise and research we know where the right postsurgery compression must be knitted-in for optimum recovery and patient comfort.

The Carefix range includes postsurgical bras and a wealth of other compression garments.

WE ADHERE TO THE STRICTEST MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS AND CERTIFICATIONS

THE REALLY UNIQUE

FEATURES OF OUR GARMENTS

4-Way stretch

4-WAY
STRETCH

The textile will adapt to the body shape at all times ensuring that the product will provide the necessary compression needed for recovery, as well as the best possible comfort at all times during prolonged wear.

Targeted compression and fixation

TARGETED COMPRESSION
AND FIXATION

Targeted compression and fixation means that our products are designed to provide the necessary compression and fixation exactly where needed. By controlling compression on the wound area, the healing process advances faster and patient comfort is hightened. The compression zones are specially designed into each product based on indication.

Seamless knitting

SEAMLESS
KNITTING

For optimum healing, the surgery site needs rest. That is why our products are designed to guarantee no seams in the wound or scar area and at any other critical sites of the applied area. This provides maximum skin friendliness and prevents pressure marks, as well as irritation of skin and tissue.

Fact-based sizing

FACT-BASED
SIZING

When it comes to medical textiles and post-op garments, no size fits all. That is why we base all our sizes on three parametres; statistical body knowledge, comfort stretch measurements and extensive knowledge and experience with the combination of knitting methods in different materials. The combination of these 3 parameters defines our size defintion, ensuring perfect fit at all times.

HOW WE CAREFULLY CRAFT POSTSURGICAL GARMENTS

- IMPORTANT ASPECTS WE CONSIDER WHEN DESIGNING

Knowing the implications of the clinical procedure preceding the postoperative care process is also crucial when creating a secure and effective post-op garment solution. Breast augmentations with implants pose other challenges than augmentation by liposuction, when it comes to applying compression and support to the surgical area after surgery. This in turn will affect the choice of design, compression zones, texture and fit.

When designing the Carefix garments and textiles, we work closely with clinicians and other industry authorities to determine clinical indications and define intended use. In everything we do, we also apply cross-clinical insights and knowhow from many of our other clinical areas — such as wound care and hernia management. This does not only secure compliance with a diversity of global regulatory systems, it also enable us to work strategically with clinical evaluation and post-market surveillance to create the best possible garments with the best possible patient outcomes.

TECHNOLOGY IS KEY WHEN DESIGNING FOR
PATIENT WELL-BEING AND HEALING

There are myriads of textile solutions in the marketplace. Garments can be woven, knitted or made by neoprene just to name a few of the options available. All technologies have various advantages and disadvantages. Some solutions have superior moisture absorption properties. Some have better qualities in regards to providing body-fit. Other technologies offer antibacterial traits and some are easier and cheaper to manufacture. All of the above-mentioned solutions can be beneficial in providing post-op compression and support, but you need to consider the various pros and cons when you chose your post-op garments.

THE COMFORT OF THE PATIENT AT THE CORE

When making garments for the healthcare industry it is of the utmost importance to develop a solution based on the comfort of the user. In the experience of the experts at Tytex, it is crucial that medical garments applied to the body exert the least amount of additional stress to both the patient as well as the operated area. Moreover, the garment needs to reduce the risk of infection as well as provide the necessary compression and correction to the critical area. The garment also needs to be free of any harmful substances which can impact the overall health of the end-user. Lastly, having a comfortable fit will not only impact the well-being of the patient it can also aid in the recovery of the patient.

WEFT-KNITTED TUBES

Although, all textile technologies come with benefits and drawbacks we have, at Tytex, chosen to focus on weft-knitted tubes, as the primary technology for our compression and support garments. Why? Let us elaborate. Besides the fact that the weft-knitted technology offer excellent properties in regards to preventing infection and the fact

that it is possible to produce at scale at competitive price points this technology also allow us to produce seamless body-fitted garments with targeted and controlled support and compression. And this is really what we want to achieve.

Circular knitting also allow us to make 100% seamless knitting in critical areas of the body — e.g. after surgery. This again results in faster healing, less scarring and more patient comfort. The absence of hard seams also reduces the risk of general irritation to both the patient and the surgical area. Another beneficial effect achieved by the weft-knitting technology in regards to maximising patient well-being as well as optimising the healing and scaring process is by providing targeted compression on the wound and nowhere else on the patient’s body. In other words, with this technology, we can provide necessary compression and support exactly where needed and otherwise not strain the patient.

Furthermore, the compression and support zones on e.g. the sides and the back of a bra can serve as support as well as posture correction and reduce postsurgical neck, shoulder and back pain without compromising mobility.

Lastly, a crucial aspect in regards to post-op care is addressing the stretch qualities of the garments. When a garment is able to stretch, the user feels comfortable and the body is both able to move freely as well as remain immobile during prolonged wear. When you choose medical garments from Carefix you are guaranteed that end-user needs are deeply integrated in the garment.

Making postsurgical products latex free and Oeko-Tex certified ensures patients find comfort throughout their entire postoperative experience and have support of their surgical site. All factors are contributing to enhancing the quality of life post-op.
